Weather: cool, clear
The first time we tried this hike in March 2013, we were turned back by deep snow. We made it to the lakes this time!
Up near the lakes, I saw 5-10 areas where people had set up primitive camp sites with fire pits. Although the trail is steep and the lakes are not easy to reach, it is apparently a popular area. Spread Eagle Peak rises above the lakes–perhaps I’ll go back again and try to reach the peak.
This hike followed the blue line in a counterclockwise loop:

Now really, is there anything better than a mountain lake? Maybe an ocean by a mountain…maybe. I loved the views, seeing Sammy up close, and the fish. Keep wandering, and sharing the reports when you can.
